Tashkent
Second by size and population of the city of Uzbekistan.Age-mate of ancient Rome. One of the oldest cities in the world. More than 2000 years is a key point on the Great Silk Road between China and Europe. Samarkand is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, as the City - Crossroads of Cultures.
One of the oldest cities in Central Asia. The cultural layer in the city is more than 20 meters. At this depth, archaeologists have discovered remnants of residential and public buildings, utensils and coins, implements and jewelry, which date back to the 4th century BC.
Surrounded by powerful walls, the historical inner city of Khiva, the pearl of the Khorezm oasis, is declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In 1997, Khiva celebrated its 2500th anniversary. Among the unique world values are architectural monuments of the city, which rightly earned the title of "city-museum".
The largest city in the population of Central Asia. The majority of the population are Sunni Muslims. In Tashkent, medieval buildings, European architecture, standard concrete "boxes" of the Soviet era and, finally, glittering high-rise buildings of glass and concrete - the corps of modern business centers and banks - are combined.
Interesting places to visit

Kalta-Minor. (Kalminor) – A minaret located on the territory of ancient Khiva. According to the plan, the height of the minaret was 70-80 meters, and the diameter should sharply decrease with height, which would make the minaret more durable. But the construction stopped at an altitude of 29 m. Kalta-Minor is the only minaret completely covered with glazed tiles and majolica.

Kalta-Minor

Juma-mosque (uzb. Djuma Masjit) – Friday mosque in the Khiva fortress of Ichan-Kala. According to the data of the Arab geographer Mukaddasy, the Juma Mosque dates back to the 10th century. The ceiling of the large hall rests on 213 wooden columns. 21 column refers to the X-XII centuries and has Arabic inscriptions. Columns with a floral pattern of the Khiva type refer to the XVIII-XIX centuries.

Juma-mosque

The Bolo-Khauz complex – an architectural ensemble located on the Bukhara region, consisting of a mosque, a minaret and a house. The Bolo-Khauz mosque served as the main Friday mosque of Bukhara before the revolution, the Bukhara emir prayed in it. Interior design is typical for the XIX – early XX centuries. Khauz – an artificial reservoir, a reservoir of drinking water, often with mosques, in city squares, in gardens.

The Gur-Emir mausoleum – the mausoleum of Amir Timur and his family in Samarkand. This masterpiece of Central Asian architecture occupies an important place in the history of world Islamic architecture. Construction of the mausoleum, begun in 1403, was associated with the sudden death of Muhammad Sultan, the direct heir of Timur and his beloved grandson. Construction was completed by Ulugbek, another grandson of Amir Temur.

Registan square

The main (ceremonial) square in the cities of the Middle East was called “Registan”. Samarkand’s Registan Square is the most famous Registan thanks to the well-known architectural ensemble of the XV-XVII centuries located on it, the center of which is the Ulugbek madrassah, the Sherdor madrassah and the Tilla-Kari madrasah. Registan is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The Ark Citadel

The Ark – is an ancient citadel in Bukhara, the stronghold of the last emirs. At the beginning of the 20th century, the fortress was inhabited by about three thousand people. The exact age of the Ark is not fixed, but fifteen hundred years ago this majestic fortress was already the seat of the ruler. The eastern part was not preserved, it was destroyed in 1920, now it is an archaeological reserve. Ark is the most ancient architectural and archaeological monument of Bukhara.

Yurt camp “Aydar” is located in 10 km from the West coast of the lake “Aydarkul”. This place is becoming more popular hosting here not only tourists from around the world, but also employees of embassies and international organizations. Guests are happy to come here to relax and spend their weekend away from civilization. The camp is equipped with showers and sanitary devices.

Master class
"Chorsu" bazaar

Master class of making Uzbek bread – non. fragrant, crunchy, well-baked “non” are so tasty that they simply can not be compared with loaves of bread sold in the store. This is not surprising. “Non”s are baked in the old way – in tandoor. In the oven of the gas stove, it is impossible to bake such “non” – all the taste qualities will be lost.

The bazaar is the heart of any eastern city. The Chorsu bazaar is one of the largest bazaars in Uzbekistan and Central Asia, located in the old part of Tashkent. The Chorsu bazaar was known in the Middle Ages and was of great importance on the road of the Great Silk Road. Near the bazaar there are teahouses with national dishes. After refreshing you can go to the ranks of artisans who sell handmade souvenirs.

Testimonials
Alikhanova Ekaterina
What I personally liked and was a surprise: You are very clean on the streets, you can see the order, you can safely walk the streets in the evening, a thorough inspection and order at the stations, airports and metro, it's good to eat delicious and inexpensive in simple cafes. Of course I liked the national ceramics and silk.
Naletova Elena
There were interesting excursions to the ceramic workshops. Without hurrying without fuss and noise, we walked, examined, asked questions, and it seemed that we were the only guests at the master's house. We bought only small bowls for memory, it's unfortunate that big dishes would not fit in our luggage. Having visited Uzbekistan and did not see this silk, this is not a complete "silk road". To see the laborious manual labor at the marginal factory "Yodgorlik". Here you need to have patience to choose scarves as a gift - such a variety of colors and tones! But we coped with this.
